Another church has been torched by unknown people in Otamba sub-location, Kisii Central Sub County, bringing the number of razed sanctuaries to five within a week.

Otamba PAG church is the latest to be burnt down after Catholic, SDA, Worldwide ministries and Legio Maria churches.

The arsonists who struck at midnight also drew images on the inner walls of the churches using human waste as they did in the previous incidents.

Private properties in some homes were also affected after the arsonists targeted them.

Kerubo Orang’i, an Otamba PAG faithful, decried the increasing number of arson cases in one locality and queried the motive behind the heinous acts.

Elder Eric Ratemo expressed shock over the desecration of altars by the arsonists and the destruction of facilities used for worshipping.

While petitioning the authorities to intervene, the elder, appealed to the community to rein the youth who are suspected to be behind the attacks.

Responding to the incidents, Kisii Police County Commander Jebel Munene disclosed they had good leads in their investigations and will soon nab the suspects.
