SRC increases salaries for President, his Deputy ahead of August polls

It is good news for candidates in this year’s election after the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) increased salaries for those who would clinch the seats on August 9.

Also included in the new hefty pay, which takes effect immediately according to a Gazette notice in our possession, are senior government officials.

Under the new improved package released by SRC today, the new president will have an increment of Ksh227,560, Deputy President Ksh190, 875, Cabinet Secretaries Ksh169, 900, while Secretary to the Cabinet, Attorney General, Principal Secretaries and Inspector General of Police Ksh156,075.

The new president will earn Ksh1,443,750 per month while his deputy will go home with Ksh1,227,188.

Cabinet Secretaries, Attorney General and Secretary to the Cabinet go home with Sh 924,00, while Members of County Assemblies will pocket Ksh144, 375.
