Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has challenged Prophet David Owuor of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry to heal politician David Sankok following viral reports that the cleric healed the disabled during his recent mega crusade in Bomet.

In a post on social media, Sonko said he would believe in Owuor’s healing powers if the man of the cloth healed Sankok, who was recently elected to represent Kenya in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

If the healing power works on Sankok, Sonko said, he will go to Owuor’s church, repent all his sins and be saved.

“These are great miracles. There’s a God in heaven who heals. My simple humble request to our beloved Prophet Owuor can he also perform a miracle to our brother Hon.

“David Ole Sangok the EALA Member of Parliament then if he’s healed I will straight go to the prophet repent all my sins and get saved to become a born-again Christian. Let’s all pray for this great miracle to happen,” Sonko wrote on Facebook.

Sonko was reacting to a photo showing the self-declared prophet carrying crutches he allegedly collected from believers who had been healed.

The photo surfaced online after the pastor’s mega crusade in Bomet on Sunday, February 19.

The crusade was attended by several politicians including Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok, Bomet Woman Representative Linet Chepkorir Toto and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.

Reacting to Sonko’s post, Sankok said: “My brother you have really spoken.”

In another post shared on his timeline, Sankok indicated that he was fine with his disability.

“My disability, my God-guided destiny, my ability beyond disability. Mike Sonko. Kuja hapa,” he wrote.

In a past interview with Daily Nation, Sankok said he became disabled at the age of 12 following a medical procedure gone wrong.

He disclosed that he was paralysed on one side of his body after an injection administered at a Naivasha hospital, where he had been diagnosed with pneumonia.

“When I woke up the following morning I felt numb on my left side,” Sankok said in 2017.

“But my condition did not change and after two weeks, I was taken to Kijabe Mission Hospital where doctors pronounced that my lower left side was paralysed and the situation could not be reversed,” he said.
