Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has reacted to photos circulating online showing him with a woman identified as Mary Biketi.

The photos between the former governor and Biketi were first shared by Biketi on her Facebook page, raising eyebrows about the relationship between the two.

In a video posted by Biketi, Oparanya, who confirmed to K24 Digital that the video was authentic, termed the photos as genuine between a person and a loved one. He, however, did not reveal the kind of love between them.

Oparanya and Biketi can be seen holding hands in one of the photos.

“I have seen someone circulating genuine photos. I don’t know why someone would waste time circulating them. It is very unfortunate that wherever I took those photos, they leaked them to the press. Those are very decent photos, and I don’t know the interest that people have when you have taken photos with a loved one,” Oparanya stated.

Furthermore, Oparanya addressed claims circulating about his health saying he is in perfect condition and in fact in Mombasa visiting his old buddies.

“And there is now fake news I am in hospital, I am sick and here I am. I have a big family to protect. Those sending out fake news should stop. Here I can speak. I’ve been in Mombasa meeting my old people.”

Oparanya’s photos

The photos first started to circulate on the internet on Friday, April 26 immediately Biketi shared the photos of them in what looked like a photo studio.

In one of the photos, the lady was leaning in with her hands placed on the legislator’s chest igniting online speculation.

On another, they held each other’s hands.
