Makueni police waiting for court order to exhume remains

The scene has been secured and the police are awaiting a court order for the exhumation of the remains.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the killing as the police continue with their investigations.

Early February this year, Police in Laikipia exhumed the body of a two-year-old girl who was killed and secretly buried by her step-father.

The suspect Hudson Nyamwamba Oburi buried the girl 20 meters from his home after he stashed the body in a sack.

His wife reported to the police after she was threatened not to reveal what transpired.

“I had gone to wash clothes in the river and when I came back I found the child dead. My husband told me that she fell from the Bodaboda and landed on her stomach. She was not alive. He held my mouth and told me not to scream and took her dug a grave and buried her,” Lister Onjeri the wife of the deceased told the police.

The incident happened in 2020 but the exhuming happened in 2022 to allow the police to investigate what killed her as they continued with their probe.
