Oscar Sudi hosts darts star David Munyua after World Championship feat
Kapeseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hosted David Munyua, the darts champion who impressed at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship in the United Kingdom in 2025.
Sudi released a statement via his social media accounts on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after hosting Munyua in his office and confirmed his support for the darts sensation.
“David Munyua, our PDC World Championship winner, paid a courtesy call to my office. What an inspiration!” Sudi remarked.
He praised Munyua as an inspiration, pledging to support his journey and build up initiatives to support the growth of the sport in the country.

Munyua placed Kenya on the world map
Munyua sparked celebrations across the country following his impressive performance at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship in the United Kingdom.
He caused a huge shock at the PDC World Championship, coming from two sets down to beat world number 18 Mike de Decker to proceed to the next round of the competition.

His exploits in London turned into a nation’s triumph, with his story of resilience and rising beyond financial challenges to participate in the competition inspiring many.
Wins that sparked celebrations
Every win was celebrated with politicians and celebrities praising the darts player who defied the odds to excel in the sport.
Popular Kameme FM presenter Muthoni Wakirumba, popularly known as Baby Top, is among those who celebrated Munyua’s progress at the competition
“Congratulations to our Kipipiri son, David Munyua Mani, the first Kenyan to win at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship in the UK,” Baby Top wrote after Munyua progressed to the next round of the competition.
“All the best in your next round on Monday at 1230 hrs. Kenya time 3:30,” she added in reference to the next round, which was scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, at 12:30 pm local time in the UK (3:30 pm Kenya time).
Mugithi sensation Samidoh also joined in celebrating Munyua’s win as focus shifted to the sport.
“My motherland! Siku hizi tunashinda vitu hata sina habari ziko na national competition. Congratulations, Muhia,” Samidoh wrote.
