“Alex (Isak) trains with us again,” Arne Slot said. “Only yesterday, for the first time. So that’ is a positive.

The development comes as a massive boost to the Merseyside team. Reds have endured a rough patch with injuries hampering their quest for Europe.

Becker and Mohamed Salah have not yet resumed sessions with the team, however, and remain unavailable.

UCL qualification

The Dutchman has sounded the significance of maintaining top-notch performance even when results remain elusive, as seen in their recent games.

“That’s why performances are very crucial and important. It’s not always like that in football. Sometimes you can have a poor performance but still win. I think we’ve shown this season that we need a good performance to get results, because the opposite has been true a lot of times, that we had a good performance, but the result was not there. But we did not have many times a poor performance and still had a result,” he told the club portal.
