Arsenal set sights on 2026/27 campaign after historic Premier League triumph

Fresh from securing their fourth Premier League title in the 2025/26 season, Arsenal are already preparing for another demanding campaign, with the club outlining key dates and milestones supporters can look forward to during the 2026/27 season.
The North London club enters the new season with momentum and ambition as they aim to build on their domestic success while competing across multiple fronts, including the UEFA Champions League.
World Cup takes centre stage
Before club football resumes, several Arsenal players will be involved in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on Thursday, June 11, 2026 in North America. The tournament, jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States, will feature an expanded format of 48 nations competing in 104 matches.

Arsenal will have 16 representatives participating in the global showpiece, with Brazilian duo Gabriel Magalhães and Gabriel Martinelli among the first Gunners expected to feature. The tournament will conclude on July 19 with the final at MetLife Arena.
Dublin friendly confirmed
As part of their preparations for the new season, Arsenal will return to the Republic of Ireland for the first time since 2018. Mikel Arteta’s side is scheduled to face Spanish outfit Real Betis at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on August 5, 2026.
The fixture is expected to offer supporters an early glimpse of the reigning Premier League champions before the competitive season begins.
The summer transfer window officially opens on June 15, providing clubs the opportunity to strengthen their squads ahead of the new campaign. The window will close on September 1, 2026, while the winter transfer period is set to run from January 1 to February 1, 2027.
These periods are expected to be crucial as Arsenal seek to reinforce their squad for another challenging season domestically and in Europe.
Community shield opens season
Arsenal’s first competitive fixture of the season will come in the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 16, 2026 in Cardiff.
The Premier League fixtures for the 2026/27 season are scheduled to be released on June 19,2026, with the league campaign officially beginning on August 21, 2026. The season will conclude on May 30, 2027.
The Gunners will also enter the Carabao Cup at the third-round stage due to their European commitments, while their FA Cup journey will begin in the third round.
Having qualified for the UEFA Champions League for a fourth straight season, Arsenal will once again compete in Europe’s elite club competition.

The league-phase draw is scheduled for August 27, 2026, when the club will discover the eight opponents they will face in the opening stage of the tournament.
The Champions League final is set to take place on June 5, 2027, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain.
Revised international calendar
The 2026/27 season will feature changes to the international football calendar. A combined international break between September 21, 2026 and October 6, 2026 will replace the traditional separate September and October windows, allowing national teams to play four matches during the period.
Additional international breaks are scheduled for November 2026 and March 2027, while players representing Asian nations may also be involved in the AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia between January and February 2027.
With domestic, continental and international football all packed into the calendar, Arsenal supporters have plenty to anticipate as the club begins preparations for what promises to be another exciting season.
