Title hopeful AFC Leopards have had a minor injury boost ahead of their next Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League encounter against Kariobangi Sharks, set for Sunday, March 29, 2026.

In an update on Saturday, March 28, 2026, Ingwe confirmed that Brian Nyongesa Ojok had resumed training after recovering from a hamstring problem.

“Brian Nyongesa has resumed training after recovering from a grade-one hamstring tear. He has been out of action for the last month,” part of Leopard’s statement read.

Ojok has been among the team’s injury concerns, which got worse with the addition of keeper Humphrey Katasi, who suffered a setback in Leopards’ previous outing against Nairobi United.

His fast start to life at Ingwe saw club chair Boniface Ambani laud his performance days after his professional bow for Ingwe.

Meanwhile, Fred Ambani will remain without several key players. Skipper Kayci Odhiambo, Elias Mugane, a summer arrival from Fortune Sacco, and Julius Masaba rank among the players who remain out injured ahead of the Sunday tie.

Other injuries

“As we prepare for Sunday’s clash against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium, we will still miss the services of Kayci Odhiambo, Ellias Mugane, Maxwell Otieno, Emmanuel Lwangu, and Humphrey Katasi, who are still nursing their injuries. Julius Masaba is also out with a knee injury.”

Leopards, who stand as the real championship challengers to the log leaders Gor Mahia, will face the resurgent William Muluya’s team at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The match will kick off at 4.00 pm.

The former KPL winners are currently sitting second on the pile with 49 points.
