Edday Nderitu opens up about the setback that nearly ended her weight loss journey

USA-based Kenyan content creator Edday Nderitu has opened up about the emotional challenges she faced during her weight loss journey, noting that repeated setbacks almost made her give up before she eventually began seeing results.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Edday disclosed that her transformation has been anything but easy, saying it has taken three years of determination, setbacks and resilience to reach where she is today.
According to Edday, one of the biggest challenges she faced was repeatedly losing weight, only to gain it all back and have to begin the journey again from scratch.
“Losing weight isn’t easy. It’s been three years of trying. I’ve lost weight, gained it all back, and had to start over more than once. But I refused to give up,” Edday wrote.
The content creator revealed that despite the difficult journey, she has managed to lose 20 kilograms over the past year, describing it as one of her biggest personal achievements.
She, however, admitted that her progress has slowed significantly, revealing that her weight loss has stalled over the last four months.
“Over the past year, I’ve lost 20 kg. Even though I’ve been stalled for the last four months, I’m choosing to celebrate how far I’ve come instead of focusing on how far I still have to go,” she added.
Despite the plateau, Edday said she remains focused on achieving her goal, revealing that she still hopes to lose another 15 kilograms.
“I still have about 15 kg to go, and I know the journey isn’t over yet. But I’ve come too far to turn back,” she said.

Reflecting on the lessons she has learned, Edday noted that the experience has taught her that progress does not always happen quickly or perfectly.
Instead, she encouraged anyone facing similar struggles to remain consistent and appreciate every small victory along the way.
“This journey has taught me that progress isn’t always fast, and it isn’t always perfect. What matters is showing up, staying consistent, and believing that every small step counts,” she wrote.
She concluded by expressing optimism about the next phase of her transformation, saying she plans to keep taking the journey one day at a time.
“Here’s to the next 15 kg. One day, one workout, one healthy choice at a time,” Edday concluded.
