TikToker and influencer Rachel Otuoma has broken down in tears while opening up about one of the most painful chapters of her marriage to late footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, revealing that she suffered two miscarriages during their time together.

Speaking in a TikTok live alongside Trisha Khalid and Bancy on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Rachel recalled the devastating experiences, saying she became pregnant twice while married to Otuoma but sadly lost both pregnancies before carrying them to term.

“With my late hubby Otuoma, I remember I got pregnant for him twice, but I miscarried both of them,” Rachel said.

She noted that she had previously shared her miscarriage journey but felt compelled to revisit it because of the pain she continues to experience whenever people label her barren.

Rachel admitted that such remarks reopen old wounds and remind her of the emotional struggle she endured while trying to build a family with her late husband.

“I remember I have shared that story before. Don’t be sad, guys. It’s so painful, especially when people start labelling you barren,” she added.

Unable to hold back her emotions, the influencer broke down as she explained that many people fail to understand the pain women go through after losing pregnancies.

She expressed disappointment that some people use the word “barren” without considering that a woman may have conceived before but lost the pregnancy through circumstances beyond her control.

“When they label you that, you remember how you struggled with miscarriages and everything. I wish people could be understanding. I really wish,” Rachel lamented.

Rachel went on to explain that, in her view, the term “barren” should only apply to someone who has never conceived or carried a pregnancy, saying it is deeply hurtful to use it against women who have experienced miscarriages.

“When you call someone barren, it means someone who has never been able to get pregnant, someone who has never carried a pregnancy. Calling someone who has gotten pregnant, carried it for some months and ended up miscarrying is so painful,” she said before breaking down in tears.

Her emotional revelation has drawn sympathy from many social media users, with several praising her courage for speaking openly about pregnancy loss and the emotional scars it leaves behind.

Rachel was married to former Kenyan Premier League footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, who died on December 20, 2024, after a four-year battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Otuoma was diagnosed with the rare neurological condition in November 2020, and the illness gradually robbed him of his mobility and speech, forcing him into a wheelchair and bringing his football career to an early end.

Throughout his illness, Rachel stood firmly by his side as his primary caregiver, frequently documenting their journey and advocating for greater awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.

The former footballer, who previously played for clubs including AFC Leopards, Ulinzi Stars, Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth, was laid to rest on January 11, 2025, at his family home in Ramula, Gem, Siaya County.
