Trisha Khalid opens up on betrayal by close friends and family

Actress and content creator Trisha Khalid has shared a message about betrayal, saying some of the people who celebrate another person’s failure may be those closest to them.

In a video posted on her Instagram page on Thursday, July 2, 2026, the actress spoke about the pain that can come from being surrounded by people who do not genuinely wish someone well.

Trisha said it is often difficult to notice when a close friend, family member or sibling is not being honest about their intentions.

Betrayal from close people

The actress noted that many people expect support from those closest to them, especially during difficult moments.

However, she said some people may secretly speak negatively about others, feel uncomfortable with their success or celebrate when they face challenges.

According to Trisha, this can be painful because such behaviour may come from people one trusts. “And the bitter truth is, most of the people who talk shit behind your back, most of the people that never want to see you win, most of the people that rejoice when you fail, are people very close to you,” she said.

She added that betrayal does not always come from strangers, as it can involve friends, relatives and even siblings. “It can be your friends, it can be your family members, it can be your siblings, and that’s very sad,” she added.

Prayer for clarity

Trisha encouraged her followers to pray for wisdom and clarity when dealing with people around them. She said it is important for people to ask God to help them identify those who genuinely support them and those who may not have good intentions.

The actress urged people to be careful about who they trust, especially when they are working towards their goals or trying to improve their lives. “So whenever you pray, pray to God to reveal the real ones and the fake ones to you,” she said.

Message to her followers

Her message has sparked conversations online, with many social media users agreeing that betrayal can be more painful when it comes from people close to them. Others noted that it is not always easy to tell whether someone is genuinely supportive, as some people may hide their true feelings behind friendship or family ties.

Trisha’s remarks come as more public figures continue to use their social media platforms to share personal reflections and messages with their followers. The actress, who has built a strong following through her acting work and online content, did not reveal whether her message was linked to a personal experience.

However, her words have resonated with many people who have faced disappointment from people they once considered close.
