Actress and content creator Trisha Khalid has opened up on a difficult period in her social media career when she seriously considered quitting the platforms.

Speaking during an interview with Shiksha Arora on Friday, December 19, 2025, Trisha revealed that constant trolling and online negativity had at one point made her feel like closing her accounts and stepping away from content creation entirely.

“Yes, there was a time I reached a point where I wanted to quit social media,” Trisha said.

Trisha recalled that during the most challenging period of her social media career, she turned to socialite Vera Sidika, with whom she shared a close personal friendship.

According to her, Sidika counselled her that she had a critical choice to make: either confront and overcome the difficulties she was facing online or step away entirely from social media.

“I used to be very close to Vera Sidika, and she told me that I had two options: face my challenges or pack up and go home. By ‘pack up and go home,’ she meant closing my accounts and forgetting that I even existed online,” she added.

Trisha said she took time to reflect on Sidika’s advice and realised that despite the criticism, her content was generating income and creating opportunities.

This understanding helped her overcome the urge to quit and continue building her social media presence.

“I sat down and asked myself why I would do that when my content was generating income,” she shared.

Further, Trisha shared that cyberbullying has been a persistent challenge in her career.

She explained that her way of handling negative comments is to read them and then block the users, rather than reacting impulsively.

This approach, she said, has helped her maintain her mental well-being while continuing to engage with her audience.

“I used to be trolled so much at one point, but I had to find a way to overcome it. My approach to cyberbullying is to read the negative comments and then block the users, rather than reacting to them,” she added.

TikTok fame

In the same interview, the actress recalled the moves she made that helped her rise to become one of the most followed personalities on TikTok in Kenya.

She revealed that her journey on the platform began in 2019 and has been marked by five years of consistent effort and creativity.

“I started TikTok around 2019. It has been about five years of hard work. For those who wonder why they are not growing, they will get there,” she

She recalled that her growth on TikTok was gradual, achieved through persistent content creation and engagement with her audience.

Trisha highlighted that many of her videos regularly attract over a million views, a reflection of the appeal of her content and her understanding of what resonates with followers.

“A lot of my videos get over a million views, and much of my content goes viral,” she said.
