Actress and content creator Trisha Khalid has recalled the moves she made that helped her rise to become one of the most followed personalities on TikTok in Kenya.

Speaking during an interview with Shiksha Arora on Friday, December 19, 2025, Trisha revealed that her journey on the platform began in 2019 and has been marked by five years of consistent effort and creativity.

“I started TikTok around 2019. It has been about five years of hard work. For those who wonder why they are not growing, they will get there,” she

She recalled that her growth on TikTok was gradual, achieved through persistent content creation and engagement with her audience.

Trisha highlighted that many of her videos regularly attract over a million views, a reflection of the appeal of her content and her understanding of what resonates with followers.

“A lot of my videos get over a million views, and much of my content goes viral,” she said.

Further, Trisha shared that staying true to herself across all social media platforms was a key factor in her success.

She insisted that authenticity has been central to her brand, allowing her to connect with viewers without altering her identity to fit trends.

She emphasised her versatility as a creator, explaining that she produces a wide range of skits and comedic content, which has helped her reach diverse audiences.

“To be honest, I think it’s because I am just myself. On all platforms, I do not change my identity. I love comedy, and I am a versatile creator; I can do all sorts of skits,” she said.

Nairobi life

Trisha also reflected on the challenges of adjusting to life in Nairobi after relocating from Mombasa.

She recalled a particularly difficult incident around three months ago when her belongings were snatched while in the city, an experience that nearly prompted her to return home.

Despite this, she revealed that she has been gradually adapting to Nairobi’s fast-paced environment and learning to navigate the realities of city life.

“I am from Mombasa, but I would describe myself as a Mombasa girl living in Nairobi. I am adjusting slowly, step by step. Around three months ago, when I was in town, my belongings were snatched on the streets, and I almost went back to Mombasa. I was not prepared for Nairobi town life, so I want to thank everyone for welcoming me here,” she shared.

Further, Trisha shared that the move to Nairobi has not only tested her resilience but also strengthened her creative focus, as she continues to produce viral content while adjusting to new surroundings.

“Despite the challenges, I am gradually settling in and learning to navigate life in Nairobi while continuing to create content and grow my TikTok presence,” she added.
