Gor Mahia announce slight change in league clash against Kariobangi Sharks

Football Kenya Premier League leaders Gor Mahia have confirmed a slight change to their next league assignment against Kariobangi Sharks.
In a statement on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Charles Akonnor’s charges announced that the tie will be staged at Kasarani Stadium and not Nyayo National Stadium, as earlier communicated.

Venue change
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, our Saturday match against K. Sharks will now be played at Kasarani Stadium (from 3.15 pm), not at Nyayo Stadium as earlier planned.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and encourage fans to buy tickets,” part of Gor’s statement read.
Resuming domestic action
The clash will mark a return to local league action, where stakes remain high after major changes to the standings from the international week.
As K’Ogalo remained out of action with players on national team duties with Harambee Stars, AFC Leopards cut the lead at the top to only four points, following a solitary goal win over Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

The win, courtesy of Tyson Otieno’s superb strike, sustained the club’s title prospects as they moved to just four points adrift of Gor Mahia, who remained out of action this weekend due to their players being on international duty with Harambee Stars in the FIFA Series games.
Onus on Gor Mahia
Charles Akonnor’s Gor Mahia side, however, still holds a game in hand and will need back-to-back wins to restore their seven-point cushion at the summit.
After the clash with William Muluya’s lads, Gor will then face off against Tusker FC before heading to a potential title decider against the championship contenders, AFC Leopards.
The foregoing comes as Fred Ambani warned of an impending round of tough fixtures for the title-chasing team.
Speaking on Sunday, March 29, 2026, the gaffer stressed that Leopards must brace for equally demanding fixtures on their roster as they keep up their chase for the title.
Meanwhile, the league organisers have additionally stated the venue change for the clash pitting Nairobi United against Mara Sugar.
The clash initially slated for the Ulinzi Sports Complex at 3:00 pm will now be staged at the Kasarani Annex and will kick off at 2:00 pm.
