FKF Cup: Laughter as Shabana and AFC Leopards troll Gor Mahia’s shocking exit
News of Gor Mahia’s exit from the 2026 FKF Cup competition at the round of 32 stage has come as a shock to the club’s fan base and the local football scene.
Until the solitary goal defeat to the Kayole-based team on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Gor Mahia had been riding high on a string of unbeaten games that was only marred by a draw against Posta Rangers in their last meeting, showcasing the form the 21-time league champions have been in.
In a match where not only the scoreboard summed up the rollercoaster in the tie, fans across the FKF PL divide could not help but offer their opinions over the result.
Laughter and trolls
The reaction ranged from laughter to trolls as rival clubs and fans laughed off K’Ogalo’s failed attempt to demonstrate to AFC Leopards, BB Bread’s casualties in the preliminary stages, how such a team needed to be dealt with.
The thrill of cup games was, however, as BB bread stunned the runaway league champions with an 84th-minute goal prior to dumping them out.

Ingwe troll Gor
Leading the trolls were Gor’s arch rivals, AFC Leopards and Shabana, who could seldom fail to climb on the bandwagon. The former, who also saw their quest for the Cup glory snapped by the same opponent, expressed their feelings with a laughter emoji.

On their part, Shabana got their share of the slighting of Gor Mahia with a funny brief clip.
“Mmesema kuna mkate ngumu mbele ya chai?” Tore Bobe said in a statement.

The defeat left Gor Mahia to contend with another painful exit from the competition after their final defeat to Nairobi United in 2025.
Naibois made history after edging out Gor Mahia 2-1 in the final of the 2025 FKF Cup at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday, June 29, 2025, clinching their first-ever major domestic title.
