Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with RB Leipzig over a move for Liverpool target Yan Diomande.

Sky Sports News understands the 19-year-old winger has indicated a preference to join the European and French champions.

Liverpool had been willing to pay Ksh14.19 billion, but Leipzig wants significantly more for the Ivorian international.

The Premier League side have been reluctant to go any higher than that, which appears to give PSG a clear run at the winger.

The French club has a contract agreed with Diomande until 2031, but club-to-club negotiations between PSG and Leipzig are ongoing.

Liverpool cools off interest

Liverpool had turned their attention to Diomande after landing Osasuna winger Victor Munoz for £34.5m.

In a surprise move, the Reds swooped in after Newcastle had a deal agreed for the Spain international, who predominantly plays on the left but can also be used on the right and through the middle.

Under new boss Andoni Iraola, Liverpool want multiple attacking signings to replace the departing Mo Salah.

But it now appears they will be forced to look elsewhere rather than at Diomande.

The Reds are preparing for the new season under Andoni Iraola and will be without a number of mainstays from last season’s campaign following the exits of over four players.

Andy Robertson (Tottenham, free), Ibrahima Konaté (Real Madrid, free), Rhys Williams (released), and Mohamed Salah (released) are the big names exiting the Merseyside outfit.
