Truphena Muthoni issues update after her environmental content hits 68M views

Environmental activist Truphena Muthoni has reported a significant surge in online engagement after her environmental conservation content garnered more than 68 million views on Facebook.

In a post shared on Facebook on Saturday, December 20, 2025, Truphena said the milestone demonstrated a growing public willingness to engage with environmental issues, noting that millions of people were actively consuming, learning from, and responding to conservation-related content.

“Seeing environmental content reach over 68 million views shows how many people are willing to listen, learn, and act for nature,” she wrote.

She stated that the reach showed many people were prepared to listen, learn, and take action in defence of nature, forests, wildlife, and the future of the environment.

She urged continued collective action in protecting forests, safeguarding animals, and defending the planet for future generations.

“Let’s stand for our forests, Let’s fight for our animals, Let’s defend our future!” she added.

Data shared alongside the post showed that her content recorded 68 million views in the last 28 days alone, representing a sharp increase compared to the previous period.

The dashboard indicated a growth of more than 1,200 per cent in engagement, marking one of her strongest performance periods to date.

Environmental campaign

The update comes amid a period of heightened public attention on Truphena following her widely publicised environmental campaigns.

In recent weeks, she has gone viral after completing a 72-hour tree-hugging challenge in Nyeri County, an effort aimed at raising awareness about deforestation, climate change, and environmental protection.

The 22-year-old environmentalist also entered the Guinness World Records books after her previous 48-hour tree-hugging marathon was approved.

Her latest 72-hour challenge further amplified her conservation message, drawing crowds, national media coverage, and widespread online engagement.

Truphena’s advocacy also attracted recognition from national leaders, with President William Ruto awarding her the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC) for exemplary service to environmental stewardship.

“As a mark of national honor for her exemplary service to environmental stewardship, I have conferred upon Truphena Muthoni the Head of State Commendation (HSC) Medal,” the president announced during a special State House sitdown with Truphena.

She was later appointed an ambassador of the 15 Billion Tree Planting Campaign, a flagship government initiative aimed at restoring forest cover across the country.
