Kenya Power lists areas to experience power outage on Monday, August 10

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance works that will affect parts of Meru, Nyeri, Kiambu, Bomet, West Pokot, Migori and Nyamira counties on Monday, August 10, 2026.

In a public notice on Sunday, August 9, 2026, the utility company said the scheduled maintenance will take place between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm in most of the affected areas, while some locations will experience interruptions until 4.00 pm.

Meru County

In Meru County, the outage will affect parts of Maua Town, Kangeta Market and Muthara from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Areas listed include Kiegoi Tea Factory, Maua Water Works, Maua Sawmills, Maua Girls Secondary School, Maua Hospital, Kangeta Market, Karama Market, Maili Tatu, Kageta Girls, Burieruri Secondary School, Iringo Lodge, Lare Market, Kabachi Market, Mutuati Health Centre, Tuuru Mission, Antubochiu Market, Kanuni Market, Kieni Kia Muti Market, Kiengu, Kawiro Market, Athirurujene Market, Antibetwe, Kaluli Market, KK Market, Maua Methodist, Athiru Gaitu, Kinaa, Chaina State and Garbatula.

Nyeri County

Kenya Power said Kahiga Market and its surroundings will be without electricity from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. The affected areas include Kahiga Market, Kahiga Secondary School, Kahiga Dispensary, Kahiga Village and nearby Safaricom and Airtel booster sites.

In the Wandumbi and Kamahoru area, power will be interrupted from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm affecting DW Nderitu, Wandumbi Secondary School and Market, Kamahoru TBC and neighbouring customers.

Kiambu County

The outage in Kiambu County will affect Ngethu Upper Camp and Kanyoni from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Areas listed include Ngethu Upper Camp, Igamba Market, Gathugu, Gituamba Market, Gatunguru High School, Maria-ini, Mataara Tea Factory, Miugu, Kiriko, Kariminu, Kanyoni, Ndiko, Kamuhindi, Gakoe Market, Gakoe Gicheha Farm, Kamunyaka, Gachege Tea Factory, Kaibere, Miiri, Kamwirigi, Ndarugu Tea Factory, Mutunguru KMTC, Mathage, Karinga Girls, Gitwe Market, Ituramiro Market, Gacharage, Gaitete, Karinga, Gikure, Kibiru, Roi and Kagunyi.

Bomet County

In Bomet County, parts of Mulot will experience an outage from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Affected areas include Sachora Market, Youth Farmers, Longisa Hospital, Longisa Market, Fair Hills Hotel, Mulot Market, Kembu Market, Kapkimworwa Quarry, Olngoswet, Chemaner, Kimuchul, Greenfield Tea Factory, Kisyet Tea Factory, Kutete Market, Tegat Market, Ngito, Kipturgut Market and Olmenani.

West Pokot County

In West Pokot County, the interruption will affect Sigor, Sarmach and Orwa from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Areas listed include Sigor, Lomut, Endough Centre, Chesta, Booster Chepotwo, Sengelgel Market, Sarmach Market, Chepkondol Market, Sengelgel Mission, Orwa Centre, Chemalei Market and Kokwotendwa.

Migori County

Kenya Power said parts of Rakwaro and Kanyawanga in Migori County will be affected from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The listed areas are Rakwaro, Rongo University, Kanga, Aila, Kanyawanga, Kosodo, Winter, Nyakwere, Kangeso, Ringa Kodongo, Saria and Kwoyo Kodalo.

Nyamira County

The company also announced a countywide interruption in parts of Nyamira County affecting Nyamira Town and Kebirigo from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Areas listed include the whole of Nyamira Town, Miruka, Sang’anyi Tea Factory, Kebirigo Market and Tea Factory, Makairo and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance works on the electricity network and advised customers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements during the outage period.
