Musician Henry Ohanga, alias Octopizzo, has shown excitement after thousands turned up for a rally in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

Through his X handle on Sunday, February 15, 2026, the Kibra Member of Parliament aspirant said the time of youth leadership is already here, not coming.

He went on to urge youths to register as voters and actively participate in shaping the country’s future.

The Kitengela rally, attended by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and other ODM party leaders, drew large crowds, with videos circulating online showing energetic young supporters filling the streets.

Octopizzo expressed pride in the turnout, saying it signalled a shift in mindset among young Kenyans.

Kitengela Nimetii Sana bana! The time for youth leadership is no longer coming; it’s here. Across generations, young people are stepping forward with courage, vision, and urgency, demanding governance that serves the people, not power,” he wrote.

He added that the movement is not about age alone but about responsibility and conscience.

“This is not a movement of age, but of conscience. Let the young lead, the women rise, and the elders stand beside them, united by purpose, driven by justice, and committed to building systems that work for all,” Octopizzo stated.

The rally, which later saw police disperse sections of the crowd, has since sparked national conversations online about youth participation in public life.

Octopizzo further called on young people to move beyond online debates and take practical steps.

“Good governance begins when we stop waiting and start standing together. #KibraRising Tuchukue Kura,” he added, encouraging voter registration and civic engagement.

For Octopizzo, the Kitengela turnout was more than just numbers. It was a sign that young people are increasingly willing to show up physically, not just digitally.

As conversations about leadership continue across the country, the musician-turned-politician appears convinced that a new generation is ready to take centre stage.
