Member of Prophet Owuor’s church forgives journalist over medical condition report
Repentance and Holiness Ministry congregant Peter Oyan has formally withdrawn his complaint against a TV47 journalist, bringing to an end a dispute that arose after the broadcaster aired a story about his medical condition earlier this year.
According to a letter sent to K24 Digital by the Prophet David Owuor’s church, Oyan has forgiven the journalist and no longer wishes to pursue the matter.
Oyan’s story first made headlines on February 8, 2026, when TV47 aired a report suggesting that he was not being truthful about his illness and recovery, while also questioning claims made by his church regarding his condition.
The report sparked controversy, with members of the church maintaining that Oyan’s testimony was genuine.
However, in the latest development, the church says Oyan has chosen reconciliation over confrontation.
“The purpose of this letter, therefore, is to inform you that our client hereby formally withdraws the complaint against the TV47 Journalist. My client is a Christian who is born again and has made peace with himself,” the letter by Oyan’s lawyers, as sent to K24 Digital by a senior bishop at Repentance and Holiness Ministry, states.
The communication indicates that Oyan’s decision is rooted in his Christian faith and personal conviction.
While the church maintains its position regarding Oyan’s testimony, it says its congregant has now embraced forgiveness and reconciliation.
