Tanzanian content creator and digital influencer Vicent Pendael Njau, popularly known as Kiredio, has announced plans to make history by becoming the country’s first creator to embrace In Real Life (IRL) livestreaming, with his debut broadcast scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2026.

In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Kiredio urged his followers to either join the planned Saba Saba demonstrations or stay at home and watch what he described as his first-ever IRL livestream.

According to the creator, the broadcast will be available on both YouTube and TikTok, marking a new chapter in his content creation journey.

“IRL Livestreaming 07.07.2026,” he announced.

Tarehe 7 mambo ni mawili tu. Either you, Sabasaba, or ukae nyumbani uangalie livestreaming yangu ya kwanza kabisa kufanya katika content creation kupitia YouTube au TikTok.”

Kiredio went on to invite his followers to tell him which platform they would be using to watch the highly anticipated livestream.

Niambie tu utaangalizia wapi?” he posed.

The announcement comes as anticipation builds around this year’s Saba Saba Day, which is expected to attract significant public attention across Tanzania.

Should the broadcast go ahead as planned, Kiredio is expected to become one of the first major Tanzanian creators to publicly venture into IRL livestreaming, a format that has rapidly gained popularity across the world.

Unlike conventional livestreams conducted indoors, IRL (In Real Life) livestreaming allows creators to broadcast their daily lives in real time as they walk through cities, attend public events, travel, interact with people and document unfolding events without heavy editing.

The format has become one of the fastest-growing genres in digital entertainment, attracting millions of viewers who enjoy experiencing events through a creator’s perspective as they happen.

Its popularity surged even further across Africa earlier this year after American streaming superstar IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., embarked on his historic “Speed Does Africa” tour.

During the 28-day journey, the YouTube sensation livestreamed his travels across 20 African countries, introducing millions of viewers worldwide to African cities, cultures, food, music and tourism through unfiltered, real-time broadcasts.

The tour inspired a new wave of African creators to explore IRL livestreaming, with many seeing it as the future of digital storytelling on the continent.
