iShowSpeed finally arrives in East Africa after touring 7 Southern African countries
American streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr, popularly known as iShowSpeed, has arrived in Rwanda, marking his eighth country on his ongoing 28-day, multi-country African tour dubbed Speed Does Africa.
The popular YouTuber touched down in the East African nation on Saturday, January 10, 2026, where he immediately kicked off a series of high-energy activities that were livestreamed to his millions of followers around the world.
During his first hours, Speed did push-ups with a short-statured man who claimed to be a mini version of him, a moment that quickly amused fans watching the stream.
He also took time to learn a few local Rwandese words, drawing cheers from people gathered around him in the streets.

One of the highlights of the day was a visit to Amahoro Stadium, Rwanda’s largest stadium, where the streamer marvelled at its size and modern layout.
At several moments, he could be heard expressing surprise at how big the venue was compared to what he had expected.
Speed later linked up with some of Rwanda’s top NBA Africa–affiliated basketball players, streaming live as they attempted stunts, practised different dunking styles and showed off their athletic skills.
In one segment, Speed raced one of the players on the basketball court, leaving hundreds to flock inside to witness the contest.
As he moved through Kigali, the streamer was also gifted a cake featuring a carved portrait of his face, leaving him visibly impressed and appreciative.
Kenya arrival
The Rwanda stop may have disappointed some Kenyans following the spread of claims that he would land in Kenya next after his rest in Zimbabwe and his leg in Zambia.
At the time, Feswaj claimed that he had been in contact with iShowSpeed’s management team to coordinate certain aspects of the streamer’s Kenya visit.

He revealed that, although the details are meant to remain confidential, he could confirm that iShowSpeed would arrive in Kenya on Friday, January 9, 2026.
“Regarding whether I have talked to iShowSpeed, I did speak with his management team, and I can confirm that we are in touch. Now that I am in contact with his team, I know it is supposed to be a secret, but I can reveal that the streamer will arrive here in Kenya on Friday evening. I am the Kenyan iShowSpeed,” he said.
Key tour highlights
From Angola, he travelled to South Africa, receiving an overwhelming welcome marked by massive crowds, street interactions and viral livestream moments.
His third stop was Mozambique, where he arrived on Saturday, January 3, 2026. There, Speed streamed from city streets and coastal areas, joined traditional dancers and acrobats, and openly praised the country’s scenery and culture.
After Mozambique, Speed headed to Eswatini, then to Botswana, where he streamed from the jungle and went on safari, before proceeding to Zimbabwe as his sixth destination. While in Zimbabwe, he announced a brief one-day break before resuming his tour activities.
On Friday, January 9, 2026, the streamer arrived in Zambia, his seventh stop, where thousands of fans turned out to greet him. During the visit, he toured the capital, received custom artwork from a local artist, sampled local food and interacted with children during a karate class.
Rwanda now becomes the eighth country on the tour, as Speed continues to build momentum across Africa, with Kenyan fans still waiting anxiously for their turn.
