KUCCPS sends alert as portal reopens for 2026 course revisions
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its online application system, giving 2026 university applicants another chance to revise their degree choices ahead of placement.
In an official update shared via X on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, KUCCPS announced that the portal is now open for the first revision of degree choices for students who sat their KCSE examinations and qualified for university placement.
The placement body said the revision exercise is aimed at helping candidates align their course selections with their performance and available programme slots across universities and colleges.
“This is an important opportunity for candidates to review their choices carefully and make informed decisions on their academic future,” KUCCPS stated.
Guidance session to support applicants
To guide applicants through the process, KUCCPS will host a webinar on Wednesday, May 20, from 6 pm to 7 pm that will be led by KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr Agnes Mercy Wahome. The online session will focus on the 2026 revision of university choices and will include a live question-and-answer segment.

According to the announcement, the webinar will address key issues, including who should revise their choices, what students should consider when making changes, and the next steps after provisional placement. “We encourage all Form Four leavers, parents, and guardians to join the webinar and gain clarity on the revision process,” the placement service stated.
live engagement
The session will be streamed live on Zoom, YouTube, X and Facebook, allowing participants from across the country to follow the discussion.
The move comes as thousands of students seek placement into various degree programmes amid growing competition for limited slots in some of the country’s most sought-after courses.
Applicants are expected to log into the KUCCPS student portal using their KCSE index number, year of examination, and password to make the necessary revisions within the stated timeline.

Parents and candidates have welcomed the reopening of the portal, saying it offers a second chance for students who may have made rushed decisions during the initial application window. KUCCPS has urged applicants to avoid last-minute submissions and ensure they confirm all details before completing the revision process.
“This exercise is meant to help candidates secure placement in courses that match their qualifications and aspirations,” they said.
The placement body has also advised applicants experiencing challenges while revising their choices to seek assistance through official KUCCPS support channels or attend the scheduled webinar for guidance.
