Kenya Met lists counties expected to experience morning cloudiness this weekend

The Kenya Meteorological Department has listed several counties expected to experience intermittent morning cloudiness this weekend, with light rainfall forecast over a few areas.
In its weather outlook for July 21 to 27, 2026, Kenya Met said that although most parts of the country are expected to remain generally dry, some regions will experience intermittent morning cloudiness, afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms.
“Several parts of the country are expected to be generally dry. However, some counties may receive rainfall, intermittent morning cloudiness, afternoon showers and thunderstorms”, Kenya Met said.
Morning cloudiness
According to the forecast, Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang’a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri and Tharaka-Nithi counties are expected to experience intermittent morning cloudiness, with light rain in a few places.
Rainfall
The weatherman also forecast morning rainfall in Mombasa, Lamu, coastal parts of Tana River, Kilifi, Kwale, Nyamira, Kisii, Siaya, Busia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Garissa and Marsabit counties.
Similarly, afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Nakuru, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Narok, Bomet, Nyamira, Vihiga, Uasin Gishu, Migori and Nandi counties.
According to Kenya Met, afternoon showers may also occur in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu, coastal parts of Tana River, Taita Taveta, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Tharaka-Nithi, Nairobi, Embu and Garissa counties.
Sunny conditions
Kenya Met said sunny intervals are expected in the morning across Baringo, Bomet, Elgeyo/Marakwet, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kericho, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Migori, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Wajir and West Pokot counties.
In the afternoon, sunny conditions are forecast in Baringo, Elgeyo/Marakwet, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kitui, Laikipia, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir and West Pokot counties.
Night showers and cloudy conditions
Night showers are likely in Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Bungoma, Uasin Gishu, Bomet, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia and Kakamega counties.
Elsewhere, partly cloudy nights are expected in Baringo, Elgeyo/Marakwet, Embu, Garissa, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kericho, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Kitui, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Migori, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nairobi, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Tharaka-Nithi, Turkana, Vihiga, Wajir and West Pokot counties.
