Nairobi Water commences repair works on Valley Road leak affecting Uhuru Park, All Saints and environs

Nairobi Water has commenced emergency repair works on a major pipe leak along Valley Road, leading to temporary water supply disruptions in key parts of the capital on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The water utility company confirmed that its technical crews are already on the ground carrying out repairs to fix the damaged underground infrastructure and restore normal service to affected residents, motorists, and institutions.
In an official update shared on its social media platforms, the utility provider informed the public that its technical team moved quickly to contain the spillage and isolate the broken main pipeline.
“Our Operations and Maintenance team is currently on-site repairing a major pipe leak on Valley Road,” Nairobi Water stated in its official notice.
Images captured at the scene show utility technicians using heavy pipe wrenches and long threaded bolts to secure a blue metal repair clamp around the wide steel water line, tightening the fitting to seal off the leak completely.
Affected areas and expected restoration time
The sudden pipe breakdown has temporarily interrupted supply to several institutions and surrounding properties situated along and near the busy road stretch.
“Affected Areas: Uhuru Park, All Saints Cathedral, and surrounding environs,” the company outlined in the notice, advising consumers within those places to prepare for low water pressure or dry taps while maintenance continues.
Nairobi Water appealed for understanding from affected residents and businesses, reassuring members of the public that work is moving at a steady pace to restore supply before the day ends.
“We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore full water supply, which is expected later today,” the company noted.
To ensure customers can report ongoing supply issues or make direct inquiries about the restoration process, the utility provider directed the public to its official customer service line.
