Kenya Met 5-day forecast: Expect sunny, dry weather and isolated light showers between Sep 6 and Sep 10

The Kenya Meteorological Department has released its latest weather update for the five days starting Sunday, September 6, 2026, through Thursday, September 10, 2026.
According to the forecast, most areas across Kenya will see clear skies and warm daytime weather, though a few places will receive light rains.
Temperature extremes across regions
Counties in North Eastern Kenya will experience high daytime heat over the period. Mandera is set to reach maximum temperatures of 38°C on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Garissa will also record high temperatures, reaching maximums of 35°C on the same days, while Wajir will record highs of 34°C.

In contrast, parts of the Central Highlands and Rift Valley will face cold conditions at night. Nyandarua County will record minimum temperatures of 4°C from Sunday, September 6, 2026, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Trans Nzoia will see temperatures drop to 7°C on Thursday, September 10, 2026, while Samburu records 8°C on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Rainfall distribution and localised rains
Rainfall across the country will stay minimal, with light showers expected in specific zones. Along the Coast, Mombasa and Kwale will get light morning showers on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and Monday, September 7, 2026.
Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River will also see brief light showers on select days.
In the Lake Victoria Basin and Western region, places like Siaya, Busia, Bungoma, Kisii, Nyamira, and Migori will get afternoon light showers on isolated days.
For Nairobi and nearby counties, sunny intervals will dominate most mornings and afternoons.
However, Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi are expected to get light showers on Wednesday night, September 9, 2026.
