‘I have heard your cry’ – Gachagua vows after overwhelming welcome in Bomet

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has taken the ‘Wantam’ gospel to Bomet, with an overwhelming reception as his procession made its way enroute to Kisii.

Reacting to the overwhelming reception, Gachagua put out a statement across his social media platforms on Monday, February 23, 2026, stating that he has heard the cry of the residents and vowed to be with them every step of the way.

He appreciated the sea of humanity that turned out to listen to them as they addressed a series of roadside rallies.

“Bomet! My great people, thank you! I have heard your cry; I will be with you every step of the way. Kenya belongs to all of us,” he stated.

What Gachagua said

Gachagua took the battle to Ruto’s doorstep, accusing local leaders of neglecting voters after being bought.

Wabunge wenu wote wamenunuliwa. Hawaongei. Senator haongei. Wajumbe hawaongei. Sasa Riggy G atakuwa mtetezi wa Kipsigis kwa sababu mmedhulumiwa (All your MPs and Senators are silent because they have been bought, but I Riggy G will speak up for you as you have been oppressed),” he said in Mulot, Bomet County.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader asserted that no region or Kenyan is spared from bad policy and as such, he will continue to push for their interest, working together with Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa and others in the United Opposition outfit.

“A bad policy cuts across every Kenyan. You deserve to be heard, and you deserve equal opportunity in Kenya. We, in the United Opposition, with my brothers Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, appreciate your openness this morning as we engaged you in Bomet Town. God bless you, and God bless Kenya,” Gachagua added.

The visit was the maiden one made by Gachagua to the Rift Valley, after a series of similar rallies across the nation.

Gachagua finally takes the battle to Ruto’s doorstep

He noted that having been teargassed in his own home county of Nyeri, he was concerned that the outcome would be undesirable when he takes the

Nonetheless, he stated that he would continue to engage all Kenyans, stating that he would address roadside rallies in the region while heading to Kisii.
