Ena Coach introduces extra charges for luggage exceeding 15kg

Public transport company Ena Coach has announced new travel guidelines, including the introduction of excess baggage charges for passengers carrying luggage weighing more than 15 kilograms.
In a customer notice issued on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the bus company informed travellers that any luggage exceeding the 15 kg limit will attract the applicable excess baggage charges.
“Dear Esteemed Customer, Kindly take note, luggage exceeding 15 kg is subject to the applicable excess baggage charges,” the notice read.
Passengers planning to travel with bulky or heavy luggage are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements in advance to avoid delays or additional inconveniences at the boarding point.

Besides the new baggage policy, Ena Coach reminded passengers that, in line with regulations by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), every child aged five years and above must have their own booked seat.
“In accordance with NTSA regulations, every child aged five (5) years and above must have their own booked seat,” the notice read.
The company also urged passengers to wear their seat belts throughout their journey to enhance safety.
To ensure a smooth boarding process, travellers have been advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled departure time. Additionally, Ena Coach clarified that passenger pick-ups will only be conducted at its designated offices.
“Please fasten your seat belt throughout your journey for your safety. Kindly arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to facilitate a smooth boarding process,” the notice read.
“Passenger pick-up is only available at our designated offices.”
With the introduction of excess baggage charges for luggage exceeding 15kg and the reinforcement of other travel guidelines, Ena Coach aims to improve passenger safety, streamline boarding procedures, ensure compliance with transport regulations and enhance service delivery across its routes.
Bus fares
The latest customer advisory comes just weeks after Ena Coach adjusted fares on several routes following the latest fuel price review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
The revised fare structure affected routes to and from Nairobi, Mombasa and several upcountry destinations, with the company urging passengers to book their tickets through its official channels.
