Zuchu: Gigy Money’s apology has given me peace

Tanzanian singer Zuhura Othman, alias Zuchu, has emotionally opened up after socialite Gigy Money publicly apologised to her following their past fallout and online differences.

Speaking during a media briefing on Thursday, May 21, 2026, Zuchu said she appreciated Gigy Money’s apology and viewed it as a genuine act of maturity and courage, especially because the pair’s disagreements had previously played out publicly.

“I am happy about her apology because we are all young people and we have helped each other at one point or another,” she said.

The ‘Sukari’ hitmaker explained that despite misunderstandings and conflicts, young people in the entertainment industry still need each other and should learn to coexist peacefully because they have long lives and careers ahead of them.

According to Zuchu, disagreements and altercations are sometimes part of life and relationships, adding that such situations can even help people understand each other better over time.

“We still have a long life ahead of us because we are young, and that means we need each other despite anything,” she said.

She further stated that she did not take the apology lightly and appreciated the effort Gigy Money made in publicly expressing regret over their past issues.

Zuchu revealed that before the public apology, Gigy Money had already reached out to her privately, and she believes the socialite was sincere in wanting peace between them.

“You know, even when we die, we will still need each other to bury one another. Having differences and altercations means you are getting to know each other better. I did not take her apology lightly, and I appreciate that Gigy had already looked for me privately. I also appreciate that she went to the internet publicly because I feel like she was really genuine in her apology,” Zuchu said.

The singer added that she personally believes in apologising whenever someone wrongs another person, saying pride and ego often make it difficult for people to say sorry even when they know they should.

She explained that once apologies are accepted, both parties often find peace and emotional relief, something she says happened between her and Gigy Money.

According to Zuchu, the two had actually forgiven each other a long time ago privately, but because some of their conflicts had become public, she respected Gigy Money for choosing to publicly apologise as well.

“Gigy and I actually forgave each other a long time ago. And because some of our beefs were public, I appreciate that she saw it right to apologise publicly too. So I respect her because it takes courage,” she stated.

The singer praised the socialite for showing courage through the apology and admitted that she now holds no grudge or resentment against her.

Zuchu also revealed that the two have since resumed communication and have been speaking regularly again, including having a long phone conversation after reconciling.

“I love her so much, and we have been talking to each other since then. I know we will work together soon. I do not have any vendetta against her. We are good now, and she called me and we talked for a long time,” Zuchu said.
