A sense of solidarity and concern marked the visit of activist Willie Oeba and Adams Ademba to the hospital where ailing activist Hanifa Adan is currently recovering after successful surgery.

Hanifa, who underwent a successful ear surgery a day earlier took to social media on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, to share an update on her health, disclosing that she spent part of the day with the duo.

“Had the best company today @WillieOeba @Ademba_47 and Shanki kept me company with beautiful stories the entire day!!! They even displaced me, saying I’m no longer a patient,” she said.

Following the medical intervention, Hanifa provided an update on her health, disclosing that both her ears were operated on by a team of experts while expressing gratitude to the facility and the team behind the successful operation.

“Out of surgery, and Alhamdulillah, it was successful. I’m still in awe that both ears were operated on. My heart is so full of gratitude,” she stated on X on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, adding that she is grateful for the incredible care she received from the facility and the team that handled her.

According to Hanifa, going through the operation was a dream come true, having endured health challenges for decades.

She hailed the operation as life-changing, stating that she can now go through her activities of daily living without any worries.

“This surgery is life-changing for me. I’ve dreamt of this moment for decades, and it still feels surreal that it has finally happened,” she stated.

Normal life

She mentioned several activities she can now do with ease, explaining that the small things people often take for granted have become very meaningful to her, as she can now live comfortably after undergoing the surgical procedure.

“For the first time, I feel like I can live normally, go swimming without worry, hear whispers, and not feel left out of conversations or moments around me. Those simple things mean the world to me now. Thank you so, so much to everyone who kept me in their prayers and sent love my way. I honestly lack the words to express how grateful I am,” she added.

The surgery came after a prolonged period of frantic search for an intervention that saw her move from one medical facility to the next in search of a solution.
