Why Kiengei encouraged Pastor Kanyari to open a Lord’s House at his church

Salvation Healing Ministries head preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari was the headlining guest during Bishop Ben Kiengei’s Thanksgiving Sunday on December 7, 2025, and, alongside walking out of the Ruiru-based church with blessings, he was commissioned to start a Lord’s House.

This followed Bishop Kiengei’s pledge to support the preacher after Kanyari made a heartfelt Ksh100,000 contribution during the Thanksgiving event, which drew a host of notable attendees, including social media personality Wanja Nyarari.

During his ministration, Bishop Kiengei paused the service to speak about Kanyari, expressing his admiration for the preacher’s transformation and for gradually distancing himself from the dramatic controversies of the past.

“But I also like to see that even your dress code matches the colours of the flour that I am gifting you. I am impressed by this suit of yours; the tailor has done an excellent job. But Kanyari has truly become a very good person,” he said.

Bishop Kiengei also offered guidance to Kanyari, advising him that true success requires learning to remain silent when confronted with negativity or drama. He noted that even his own trajectory improved significantly once he mastered the art of discretion, particularly regarding social media and public opinion.

“Nowadays, what Kanyari needs is to keep quiet. You do not need to comment on everything that happens online about you. For me, when I learned to remain silent, that is when things started moving in the right direction. People used to look at me and judge me harshly long ago,” Kiengei added.

It was at this point that Kiengei, who is also a brand ambassador for a popular maize flour brand, asked church members to bring two large bales of the flour to the pulpit. He blessed the bales and presented them to Kanyari, officially marking the launch of his church’s Lord’s Store.

While presenting the gift, Kiengei explained that a Lord’s Store is intended to store goods and items to assist disadvantaged individuals, while also supporting congregants facing various needs.

“And I want you to know that the Lord’s Store should only contain this type of flour. I should never hear reports that you have included any other kind. From today, you are also a brand ambassador for this flour that I am gifting you. Starting today, I bless Salvation Healing Ministries, led by Pastor Victor Kanyari, to officially launch a Lord’s Store. As the brand ambassador of this store, I now gift him these two bales of maize flour to begin it,” Kiengei said.

What is a Lord’s House?

A Lord’s House is a dedicated facility within a church that functions as a central hub for storing essential goods and resources intended for distribution to those in need.

Unlike ad hoc charity drives, a Lord’s House is a structured and ongoing ministry initiative, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently and responsibly.

The concept extends beyond mere food storage, as it embodies the church’s mission to provide practical support alongside spiritual guidance. Items such as flour, grains, cooking oil, and other staples are kept in the Lord’s House, ready to assist disadvantaged families, widows, or congregants facing emergencies.

Depending on the needs of the community, the initiative may also include clothing, blankets, and other essential supplies.
