Reverend Ndumia’s tragic killing

Rev. Nderitu’s death came just days after the shocking killing of PCEA Tabuga Parish Reverend Julius Ndumia, leaving the church fraternity grappling with yet another painful loss in a short span of time.

Following news of his death, church leaders, politicians, congregants and members of the wider Christian community poured out emotional tributes describing him as a devoted servant of God whose impact in ministry and society would never be forgotten.

Among the first institutions to mourn him publicly was Kirk TV, the official communication channel of the PCEA Church, which sent heartfelt condolences to his family, congregants at PCEA Thika Town Parish and the entire PCEA fraternity.

“With heartfelt sympathy, we condole with the family, friends and congregants of PCEA Thika Town Parish and wish you peace and strength,” the Kirk statement added.

Reverend Stephen Ndoria also confirmed the tragic news through an emotional biblical reflection centred on faith, death and belonging to God, encouraging believers to trust in God’s appointed time and divine judgment.

Thika Town Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a also joined in mourning the preacher, describing him as a close friend, a devoted servant of God, and a man whose impact touched many lives.

The death of Rev. Nderitu continued to deepen sorrow within the PCEA Church, which is still mourning Rev. Julius Ndumia who died on May 3, 2026, after unknown assailants cornered him at his residence in a shocking incident that stunned congregants and fellow clergy.

Days after Ndumia’s killing, the Nakuru East Presbytery organised an emotional memorial service and justice procession attended by hundreds of mourners, with church leaders calling for justice while remembering him as a humble and dedicated servant of God.
