Toxic Lyrikali’s ‘Chinje’ becomes Kenya’s most-watched rap song with 20M views

Kenyan rapper Toxic Lyrikali is celebrating a major milestone after making history as his hit song “Chinje” reached 20 million views on YouTube, becoming the most-watched Kenyan rap song in history.
The rapper announced the achievement on Instagram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, thanking everyone who contributed to the song and those who believed in his music from the beginning.
“First 20M🔥🔥. Shukran kwa kila msee tulipiga biz kumake hii kitu possible na pia maboy waliaminia craft tangu day one. MBOKADOBA,” he wrote.
The milestone marks another major moment in the rapper’s growing career, with “Chinje” becoming one of the songs that helped push his name further into Kenya’s hip-hop conversation.
Songs that built his profile
Aside from “Chinje”, Toxic Lyrikali has released several songs that gained attention online. His catalogue includes “Thugnificent”, “Sick”, “Hood”, “Long Story” and “Backbencher”, among others.
“Long Story” was released in 2025, while “Backbencher” became another widely circulated song in his catalogue. His YouTube channel also lists official videos for songs including “Thugnificent”, “Chinje” and “Backbencher”.
“Chinje” was released in November 2024 and is credited to his Mboka Doba imprint.
Toxic Lyrikali’s collaborations
The rapper has also been building his catalogue through collaborations with other Kenyan and regional artists.
One of his notable collaborations is “Mfisadi”, which features singer Dyana Cods. The song was released towards the end of 2025, with the official video following in December.
He has also worked with Countree Hype on songs including “Backbencher” and “Stone”.
Another collaboration that has recently been added to his catalogue is “Hongo Ya Karao Vol. II”, featuring Toxic Lyrikali, Mauru Gwash and Kapitani. The official video was released in August 2026. Toxic has also featured on the “Packe Remix” alongside Mauru Gwash and Thirtyfourbrick.

Toxic has remained active throughout 2026, releasing music instead of relying solely on the success of “Chinje”.
His recent releases include “Lowkey”, “Dumpsite”, “Bad Everyday”, “Jaa Jaa” and “Hate”. His collaboration with Countree Hype, “Stone”, was released in June, while “Hate” received an official video in May.
