‘Baby Riddim’ hitmaker FAVE in Kenya: Everything to know about her visit

For many Kenyan music fans, FAVE is still closely associated with Baby Riddim, the 2021 hit that helped make the Nigerian singer a familiar name across Africa.

But her latest visit to Kenya comes at a different stage of her career, with FAVE looking to introduce fans to newer music and a different side of her artistry.

The singer, whose full name is Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere and who is also known as Fave Szn, arrived in Nairobi on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

FAVE is in Kenya ahead of her scheduled performance at Club Iris on Sunday, September 6, where she is expected to perform songs from her latest project and connect with her Kenyan fans.

Speaking briefly after landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, FAVE said she was excited about the performance and seeing her fans.

“I’ll be performing tomorrow night at Club Iris, so I’m pretty excited to see all my fans and perform new songs from my project,” she said.

A new side of FAVE

The Nairobi visit comes as FAVE promotes her latest project, RnBling, a six-track EP released on July 8, 2026.

For the singer, the project represents a chance to show audiences how her sound and artistry have developed since the period when songs such as Baby Riddim introduced her to a wider audience.

She said she was particularly interested in making Kenyan fans familiar with her newer music, noting that many of them know her from songs released several years ago.

“I would really love to tap into the new side of me,” FAVE said.

She explained that many Kenyans became familiar with her music “two, three years ago” and said she now wants them to experience the artist she has become.

“I want to introduce them to the new me. So I want them to catch on to the new FAVE,” she added.

What is on RnBling?

RnBling is a six-track project that explores FAVE’s R&B and Afropop sound.

The EP features Nigerian singers Chike and Yemi Alade, while production contributions come from Dunnie, Deeyasso, Damie and other producers.

The songs include Dance, Body Talk, Miss You, Drown and Paparazzi.

The Nairobi show therefore comes at an interesting point for FAVE. While she has an established audience in Kenya, the performance gives her an opportunity to move that audience beyond the songs that first made her popular.

The Baby Riddim effect

Released in 2021, Baby Riddim remains FAVE’s most recognisable song and an important part of her connection with African audiences.

The track became a major part of her rise and helped cement her presence beyond Nigeria.

For Kenyan listeners, it is also likely to be one of the songs that immediately connects them to the singer.

But FAVE’s comments about introducing the “new FAVE” suggest that she does not want her Kenya story to remain defined only by a hit released five years ago.

Instead, the Nairobi performance provides a platform for her to reconnect with an audience that already knows her while giving that audience a reason to explore her latest work.

She has visited Kenya before

FAVE’s latest trip is also not her first time in the country.

She performed at Blankets & Wine Nairobi in June 2026, giving her an earlier opportunity to interact with Kenyan music fans.

That previous visit means she already has some familiarity with the local audience.

Asked what would make her latest trip different, however, FAVE was not ready to reveal much.

“Well, I can’t say. Let me enter the city first. When I enter the city, I’ll let you know what makes it different. But I just arrived, so I can’t say,” she said.

Her answer leaves the Sunday performance as the moment when fans will find out what she has planned.
