My wife makes it easier: Juma Jux opens up about Priscilla’s influence on his love songs

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has opened up about how his marriage to Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has influenced the romantic side of his music, saying having her as his wife makes writing love songs easier.
Jux made the remarks during an interview shared on Sunday, September 13, 2026, where he was asked whether the romantic side of his music reflects who he is in real life or is simply part of his work as a musician.
The singer said there is a strong connection between his music and his personal life, noting that most of the time his romantic lyrics reflect who he is.
Jux on writing romantic songs
Jux explained that about 80 per cent of the romantic side of his music reflects his real personality. He also credited his wife for making the process easier, saying having someone he loves as a source of inspiration gives his music a more personal touch.
“Yes, 80 per cent of the time. And also, thanks to my beautiful wife. She makes it so much easier for me,” Jux said.
The comment comes as the singer and Priscilla continue to share their life as a couple and parents with their son, Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala.
How Jux and Priscilla’s relationship began
Jux and Priscilla’s relationship first attracted widespread attention in 2024 after the two were spotted together.
Their relationship is understood to have started after they met during a trip to Rwanda. Priscilla later appeared in Jux’s music video for Maboss, further fuelling speculation about their relationship.
In July 2024, Priscilla appeared to confirm the relationship publicly when she shared a photo with Jux and captioned it “Mine”.
Jux later released Ololufe Mi, a romantic song featuring Diamond Platnumz, with Priscilla appearing in the music video. Their relationship continued to grow as they made more public appearances together.
From dating to marriage
The couple went on to make their relationship a family affair, with Jux meeting Priscilla’s mother, Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo. Their wedding celebrations took place across Tanzania and Nigeria in 2025.
They held their Islamic wedding, known as a Nikkah, in Tanzania in February, followed by a civil ceremony. They later held traditional and white wedding ceremonies in Lagos before concluding their celebrations in Tanzania.
The celebrations brought together relatives, friends, and several personalities from the Tanzanian and Nigerian entertainment industries.
Jux and Priscilla as parents
A few months after their wedding celebrations, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.
Their son, Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, was born in Canada on August 24, 2025. His arrival marked another chapter in the couple’s relationship as they transitioned from newlyweds to parents.
In August 2026, Jux and Priscilla marked their son’s first birthday, reflecting on their first year of parenthood and the changes that came with raising their child.
Love and music
For Jux, his relationship with Priscilla has also become part of the inspiration behind his music. The singer has previously spoken about being intentional about choosing a partner and starting a family, and he has continued to publicly celebrate his wife and their son.
His latest comments offer another glimpse into how his personal life connects with his work, particularly the romantic songs that have become part of his music catalogue.
With Priscilla now not only his wife but also the mother of his child, Jux says the inspiration behind his love songs comes naturally. “When love is your inspiration, the music just hits different,” he said.
