Jacque Maribe pens emotional tribute to her late father, says Sundays are no longer the same

Former TV news anchor Jacque Maribe has penned an emotional tribute to her late father, saying Sundays are no longer the same since his passing.
She shared her grief as she reflected on the moments they used to spend together on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
She explained that Sundays now bring pain as they remind her of the laughter and small memories they shared. She said the absence of her father has left a gap that is difficult to fill.
“I’m craving the Sunday laughs and you asking me to sneak you in some… every Sunday, it nits me, and you are no longer there to laugh with,” Jacque Maribe said.

She added that the reality of his absence often overwhelms her, leading to moments of deep sorrow. She explained that even as she tries to understand the loss, the pain remains strong.
“And I cry out loud and wonder, then I know God called you home for a reason. I miss you, more than life, beyond help!” she said.
She also took time to praise her mother, describing her as a strong figure holding the family together. She said her mother has shown great strength during the difficult period following the loss.
Family strength after loss
“You chose a pretty good woman, Dad, a stellar one at that!” Jacque Maribe said.
She explained that her mother has carried the weight of the family with courage and determination. She said the role she has taken on in their father’s absence has been difficult but admirable.

“How she’s managed to hold all of us together these past couple of months baffles me,” she said.
Jacque Maribe added that her mother continues to stand firm for the family despite the pain. She explained that her presence has helped them cope with the loss and remain united.
The journalist shared the tribute on her official Instagram account on Monday, December 22, 2025. She explained that the message was a way of expressing her grief and honouring the bond she shared with her father.
She described her late father as the very definition of perfection, noting the deep impact he had on her life. She said coming to terms with his death has been one of the hardest moments she has faced.
