Comedian Eric Omondi has revealed how the long walk from Nairobi to Mombasa, which saw him cover a distance of 486 kilometres, has affected his body.

Although he did not walk the entire distance, the harsh weather encountered during the gruelling journey had its effect

In a video posted on his social media platforms on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Omondi shared significant changes in his body, including some noticeable ones.

The philanthropist stated that he lost weight over the four-day period during which his body was stretched to the limit as he hit the road on a daily basis.

The hot sun also affected his skin, with the comedian explaining the difference in his skin colour.

He jokingly says that the part of his body which was covered by the vest he wore and which is lighter is “Russian” while the part which was exposed to the sun and darkened is “Kenyan”.

Eric Omondi says he has no regrets

He recounted that at the onset of the journey, Murugi Munyi insisted that he should apply sunscreen and even provided some, but he downplayed it, only to end up in the current state.

Nonetheless, the comedian expressed no regrets, insisting that it was for a worthy cause.

Sasa unaona venye nakaa saa hizi, yaani hapa mimi ni Mrussia, na hapa mimi ni Mkenya,” Omondi said while pointing to the difference in his skin.

This loosely translates to: One part of my skin looks like I am Russian, and the other looks Kenyan.

First of all, nimekonda wasee, nikianza hii walk nilikuwa nimeungaunga, nilikuwa niko gymn, but I lost weight in four and a half days,” he added.

Losing weight for a worthy cause

This translates to: “People, I have lost weight. At the onset, I was well-built, having joined a gym, but I lost weight in four and a half days”.

The comedian appreciated well-wishers who supported the initiative to raise funds for the construction of a rescue centre.

He also thanked a host of celebrities who joined him at various points of the walk, noting that their support greatly contributed to the success of the initiative that has seen the construction of the rescue centre start.
