Kitt Kiarie: We are failing boys by not teaching them about pregnancy, reproductive health
Digital creator Kitt Kiarie has spoken about the need to include boys in pregnancy and reproductive health education.
She said there is an education gap that leaves many young men without basic knowledge about how pregnancy happens. According to her, this issue later affects how they understand reproductive health as adults.
“Remember all the things people used to say you could do to NOT get pregnant? Like having s3x standing up. And alternatively, all the things you thought would work to GET you pregnant? Let’s discuss,” Kitt Kiarie said in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

She explained that many people grow up hearing myths and wrong ideas about pregnancy. Kitt Kiarie said these beliefs often confuse young people and prevent them from learning the correct facts. She noted that such misinformation can affect how people make decisions later in life.
Education gap among boys
Kitt Kiarie said that boys are often left out when it comes to learning about pregnancy. She explained that most of the focus is placed elsewhere, even though boys grow into men who take part in decisions affecting reproductive health. She said this creates a knowledge gap that should be addressed.
“Here’s another example of how we fail boys. Nobody teaches them about pregnancy, because they will never be pregnant. And yet, they grow into men who make laws governing women’s bodies,” Kitt Kiarie said.

She further pointed out that a lack of education can lead to misunderstandings in adulthood.
She also referenced public discussions that show how misinformation can appear in leadership. Kitt Kiarie pointed to an example involving a US senator and remarks about pregnancy. She said such examples highlight why proper education is important from an early age.
Teaching boys about reproductive health is important because it helps build understanding and responsibility. Education can reduce myths and encourage informed decisions in the future, and both boys and girls should receive accurate information.
Proper education helps young people understand their bodies and make informed choices. It also reduces misinformation and harmful beliefs. Teaching boys about pregnancy ensures they grow into informed adults who can participate responsibly in society.
