Digital content creator Prudence Chepkirui Tonui, popularly known as King Kalala, has questioned claims that pregnancy is a beautiful experience.

Kalala, who is currently pregnant with her first child, spoke about some of the challenges she has experienced during the pregnancy. She questioned the idea that pregnancy comes with many enjoyable perks.

Kalala said she did not understand which part of pregnancy was supposed to be beautiful, especially when it affects sleep. She explained that some of the experiences have left her unable to enjoy her bed, despite the common description of pregnancy as a beautiful journey.

“You guys are liars. Oh, pregnancy is a very beautiful thing, a beautiful experience; which part of it is beautiful? Hiyo part huwezi lala? When you are allergic to your bed? Do not lie to us,” King Kalala said on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

The content creator also challenged people who speak about the benefits that come with pregnancy. She said the reality can be different from how people describe the experience, pointing to situations where pregnant women may need more support from others.

Kalala said claims about pregnancy perks do not always match what pregnant women go through. She also questioned the way people respond when pregnant women need practical support while using public transport or going about their daily activities.

“You guys are liars, eti ohh it comes with perks na nyinyi ndio watu mnakataa kutusimamia kwa matatu eti tununue magari?” King Kalala said.

Kalala announced her pregnancy in July

Kalala announced that she was expecting her first child in an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She shared the news with the message, “LONG LIVE THE KLAN! +1!” as she revealed the pregnancy with an all-grown baby bump.

She later added another message as she celebrated the new chapter. The announcement came as Kalala continued to be known for her unfiltered opinions, bold personality and signature husky voice.

“Hata simba hupatikana,” King Kalala said.

The pregnancy announcement came months after Kalala spoke about dating and urged women to stop calling men misogynists when they express their personal preferences. She shared the message in an Instagram video on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Kalala’s latest comments give a glimpse into how she is experiencing pregnancy as she prepares to welcome her first child. Rather than describing it as entirely beautiful, she pointed to sleepless nights and the need for support, making it clear that pregnancy has also come with difficult moments.
