Jacque Maribe remembers late father months after his passing

Former TV news anchor Jacque Maribe has once again shared a deeply personal message remembering her late father, months after his burial.
In a touching message shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Maribe expressed how much she still misses him, posting a short emotional line that reflected the strong bond they shared even in his absence.
“Ka mzae wetu aki na queen wake I miss this man too much. Oh dad!”

Maribe’s father, Maribe Mwangi, passed away on December 22, 2025, after a long illness that had seen him in and out of hospital care in his final months. His death came just as the family was already dealing with a difficult period, but what stood out most publicly was the close relationship he had with his daughter.
During his lifetime, Mwangi was widely known for standing firmly beside Maribe during her highly publicised court battle in the Monica Kimani case, often appearing in court to support her and offering quiet but steady reassurance. Those close to the family described him as a constant presence in her life, especially during moments when pressure from the public and media was intense.

After his passing, Maribe shared several emotional tributes describing him as her pillar and admitting that life without him felt unimaginable. She spoke openly about grief hitting her in waves, showing a softer side of a public figure many remember from television screens.
“I’m craving the Sunday laughs and you asking me to sneak you in some… every Sunday, it nits me, and you are no longer there to laugh with,” Jacque Maribe said in one of her posts.
“And I cry out loud and wonder, then I know God called you home for a reason. I miss you, more than life, beyond help!” she said.
