Content creator Scholastica Meme, popularly known as Gen Z Mama Mboga, has clarified her relationship with fellow content creator Dappaman, saying the romantic content they shared was scripted and that they were never a real couple.

Gen Z Mama Mboga clarified in an official statement on Saturday, August 22, 2026, announcing that she had ended her content collaboration with Dappaman.

“The content we did together was all scripted. Nothing about it was real. We were never a real couple,” she said.

The two creators had publicly presented themselves as a couple in January 2026, sharing romantic content that attracted attention from their followers.

Scripted content

Meme said the decision to end their collaboration was hers and that she would no longer create content with Dappaman.

“That chapter is now closed for me. Moving forward, you will not see any content from me with him,” she said.

She explained that she now wants to focus on her personal life, growth and content that is authentic to her.

The clarification comes after months of couple-style videos featuring the two creators, with their online interactions prompting followers to follow their relationship closely.

Meme’s latest statement makes clear that the romance portrayed in the content was part of their collaboration rather than a genuine relationship.

Despite ending their collaboration, Meme thanked Dappaman for the period they worked together and the lessons she gained from the experience.

“To Dappaman: Thank you for the time we worked together and for the lessons I learned along the way. I wish you growth, peace, and success in everything you do next,” she said.

She also thanked her followers for supporting her throughout the period.

New direction

Meme said she wants to move forward by concentrating on her personal growth and producing content that reflects who she is.

“I’m choosing to focus on my personal life, my growth, and creating content that is authentic to me,” she said.

She further asked her followers to respect her decision and leave the matter behind as she moves on.

“I’m also kindly asking for your respect and understanding as I move forward, and for us to leave this topic here,” she said.

Not her first

This is not the first time Gen Z Mama Mboga has acknowledged that a relationship storyline involving her was staged.

In June 2026, she apologised to her fans over a fake engagement with musician Mike Brown, explaining that the proposal, engagement and Malindi vacation were part of promotional content for his music.

She said at the time that she had decided to stop creating scripted romantic content.
