Israel Mbonyi, Mercy Chinwo and Moses Bliss set for free Nairobi concert

Rwandan gospel singer Israel Mbonyi is set to return to Kenya for a major gospel event featuring some of Africa’s leading Christian musicians.
Mbonyi will be among the artists expected to perform at Grace Encounter 2026, scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, and Sunday, September 27, at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
Nigerian gospel singers Mercy Chinwo and Moses Bliss are also set to feature at the two-day event, alongside Pastor Poju Oyemade.
The event is hosted by Apostle David Owusu and organised under Grace Arena Ministries.
Confirming his appearance, Mbonyi took to social media to announce his upcoming visit to the Kenyan capital.
“Hamjambo Kenya!!! I will be in Nairobi at Uhuru Park for GRACE ENCOUNTER 2026 this September, hosted by @prophdavidowusu, @gracearenakenya, and @grace_encounter_global_, Mbonyi said.
Mbonyi’s Kenyan fans
His announcement has generated excitement among Kenyan gospel fans, particularly following his previous visits and performances in the country.
Mbonyi has built a strong following in Kenya through his gospel music and live worship performances, with some of his songs becoming popular among Christian audiences across the country.
Kenyan politician Peter Salasya also welcomed the singer back to Kenya, expressing his intention to attend the event.
“26th and 27th September I am very much committed at Uhuru Park. I can’t miss this worship experience. I want to cry when I worship in the spirit. “Welcome to Kenya, Israel Mbonyi, once more,” Salasya said.
Grace Encounter
The Grace Encounter will be held from 10am on both September 26 and September 27, according to the event poster.
Entry to the event is free, giving gospel music and worship enthusiasts an opportunity to attend without paying for admission.
The two-day gathering is expected to bring together worshippers from Nairobi and other parts of the country for music, preaching and worship.
The event comes as Mbonyi continues to maintain a strong connection with Kenyan audiences, who have embraced his music and ministry.
With the addition of Mercy Chinwo and Moses Bliss to the line-up, Grace Encounter 2026 is expected to attract a large audience when the event takes place at Uhuru Park later this month.
