Zuchu celebrates Singo Day in style at her Mbezi Beach home

Tanzanian singer Zuchu has marked a special milestone ahead of the 40-day celebration of her daughter with fellow musician Diamond Platnumz.
The singer hosted a Singo Day gathering at her Mbezi Beach home in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday night, Sepetember 9,2026, bringing together women as she prepares to officially mark 40 days since the birth of her daughter.
Zuchu shared glimpses of the celebration on social media, showing the colourful gathering held at her home as she prepares for the bigger ceremony scheduled for this weekend.
The Singo Day comes as part of the celebrations surrounding the couple’s daughter, who was born on August 2, 2026.
What is Singo Day?
Singo Day is associated with the period leading up to a baby’s 40-day milestone and is observed in some communities as a women-centred gathering.
The occasion gives women an opportunity to come together, celebrate the new mother and baby and offer encouragement and support as the mother transitions into life with her newborn.
Unlike a formal religious ceremony with a single set of rules observed by all Muslims, practices surrounding the 40-day period can vary between families and communities.
The tradition of giving special attention to the first weeks after childbirth is found across different cultures, with the first 40 days often regarded as an important period for maternal recovery, bonding and support.
The women-only nature of Singo Day can also provide a space where mothers, relatives and female friends can freely share advice and experiences about motherhood, recovery and caring for a newborn.
Zuchu’s daughter’s 40-day celebration
Diamond and Zuchu will then mark their daughter’s 40-day milestone on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with the celebration scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm at Tegeta Madale in Dar es Salaam.
The event will mark approximately 40 days since the couple welcomed their daughter and is expected to bring together family members and close friends.
The celebration comes after a closely followed period for the couple, with fans keeping up with their journey into parenthood and the arrival of their first child together.
