Pastor Victor Kanyari has dismissed claims that his children no longer want him, insisting that they still love him despite ongoing speculation surrounding their relationship.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Kanyari described the reports as baseless rumours, saying some people spread false information to gain attention on social media.

Kanyari dismisses rumours

The controversial preacher laughed off reports that his children had rejected him, insisting he remains close to them.

“Nilisikia magazeti yameandika ati watoto hawanitaki. Hizo ni rumours, Wacheni na hizo. Hizo ni rumours za upuuzi. Watoto wananipenda na they are okay, they love me. I’m their biological father,” Kanyari said.

He added that some people only become popular by attacking public figures online.

“Kuna watu lazima wakikutukana ndio watajulikana. Wapo kutukana watajulikana. So mimi nakutaka usipo niongelea vibaya, account yako haiendi. Ukiongea vibaya account inasonga,” he remarked.

Kanyari went on to claim that one individual was influencing his children against him.

According to him, the person has been feeding the children false information to gain access to their late mother’s property.

“Lakini kuna mtu pale ambaye ni manipulator, ambaye anamanipulate wale watoto, anawaharibu kichwa, anawaambia hivi anawaambia hivi ili achukue mali ya mama yao. Akimaliza, awatupe nje. That’s life,” he claimed.

Despite the ongoing public speculation, Kanyari maintained that his relationship with his children remains strong.

“Watoto wananipenda na they are okay. They love me. I’m their biological father,” he reiterated.

Custody dispute

Kanyari’s latest remarks come just weeks after he announced that he had regained custody of his two children, Sky Victor and Danivictor, following a highly publicised custody dispute.

The row became public after Kanyari claimed he had been denied access to the children following the death of his former wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo, in November 2025.

He accused Betty’s widower, Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, of failing to properly care for them and appealed for public intervention.

Speaking during a church service on June 28, 2026, Kanyari announced that the children were back under his care, although he said they were still healing from what they had gone through.
