Morara Kebaso: I cut the umbilical cords of all my children

Activist and politician Morara Kebaso has defended his record as a father while responding to what he described as propaganda being spread by his political opponents.
In a statement shared on Friday, September 11, 2026, Morara said he had played an active role in raising his children, recalling his presence during their births and the responsibilities he undertook at home.
“I have walked the journey of fatherhood with responsibility and honour. I was there in every delivery room from dilation 0 to dilation 6 to delivery. I was there to cut the umbilical cords of all my children,” Morara said.
He further said he was never too busy or away when his children were being born, adding that he was the first person to hold them after delivery.
“Never was I too busy or on a journey. I was the first to hold them before the nurse held them,” he said.
Morara also highlighted the role he played in caring for his children, saying he stayed awake at night to soothe them and took part in household chores.
“I stayed up long nights soothing babies to sleep. I have washed clothes and changed nappies like a hero dad,” he stated.

The politician said he had also taken on a leadership role in his home, saying he sought to instil values in his children.
“I have been a leader and a priest of my home, leading my children to be respectful, honest and honourable,” Morara added.
His remarks come as he pushes back against what he described as claims targeting his family.
“The propaganda being peddled by my political opponents is baseless and fabricated,” he pointed out.
Morara urged his political opponents to stop involving his family and other people he described as innocent living away from politics.
“As I said earlier and will say again, stop targeting my loving family or innocent people living normal lives away from politics. Allow them the peace, comfort and respect they deserve,” he said.

He further claimed that statements allegedly attributed to members of his family were false.
“Those false statements going round purporting to come from my family will only help you loose the elections you have lost. Ile heshima iko kwa familia yetu haijaturusu kusema uongo,” he said.
Morara concluded by defending his conduct as a father, saying: “A man who loves his children like this will not hurt the people God has placed under his care.”
He added, “Find a new lie; this one has failed the test of sense and evidence. Na muendelee kusupport biashara kabisa.”
