Director Trevor advises Mokaya to focus on brand and content strategy rather than posting daily

Content creator and filmmaker Director Trevor has shared his thoughts on digital content strategy, advising comedian and content creator Mokaya to focus more on packaging his content than posting every day.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Trevor said Mokaya has already established himself as a comedian and should now concentrate on strengthening his brand through well-planned content.
According to Trevor, creators should choose a strategy that matches how they earn their income instead of following the same approach as everyone else.
‘People already know he’s funny’
Trevor explained that Mokaya has already built a reputation for making people laugh, meaning the next step is improving how his content is presented.

He suggested that posting less often would give the comedian enough time to produce videos with stronger storytelling and better overall quality. “Mokaya should focus on something called packaging because people already know he’s funny and creates comedy content. He should reduce the number of times he’s posting,” Trevor said.
He noted that taking more time to prepare each production could help make every video more impactful.
Quality matters for brand partnerships
Trevor went on to explain that consistency is important for creators who earn directly from social media platforms through advertising programmes such as YouTube, Facebook or TikTok.

However, he believes creators whose income mainly comes from brand partnerships need a different approach. “If your main source of income is brand collaborations, your content has to be packaged differently. That means focusing more on quality than quantity,” he explained.
Trevor added that high-quality productions require proper planning, stronger scripts, suitable filming locations and careful execution, making it difficult to maintain the same standard with daily uploads.
Content strategy depends on income
The filmmaker stressed that there is no single formula for success in the digital space.

He said creators should first understand how they make money before deciding how frequently they should publish content. “My point is simply this: consistency alone is not everything. The right strategy depends on how you make your money as a creator,” he said.
Trevor also pointed out that the digital industry changes quickly, saying creators must be willing to adjust their strategies as platforms continue to evolve. He cited changes in online advertising as an example, noting that marketing methods that once worked well may not always deliver the same results in the future.
‘I’m one of Mokaya’s biggest supporters’
Despite sharing his opinion, Trevor made it clear that his remarks were not intended as criticism.

Instead, he described them as professional advice based on his understanding of different content monetisation models. “I mean no harm to my brother Mokaya. I’m genuinely one of his biggest supporters, and this isn’t criticism of him. It’s simply my perspective on content strategy based on different monetisation models,” he said.
His remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many content creators weighing the balance between posting consistently and investing more time in producing high-quality content.
