Bahati explains why he missed his son’s birthday celebration

Musician Kevin Bahati has opened up about missing his son Majesty’s seventh birthday celebration, explaining that work commitments kept him away from the special family event.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the singer admitted that he could not believe he had missed both the birthday photoshoot and the celebration.
Despite his absence, Bahati made it clear that his love for his son remains unchanged and that his efforts away from home are aimed at creating a better future for his family.
Bahati explains his absence
The singer described the past few weeks as a busy season in his life, adding that he had not planned to miss such an important milestone. He shared an emotional message dedicated to his son while acknowledging that balancing family and work can sometimes be difficult.

“It has been a busy season for me, and I can’t believe I missed this boy’s seventh birthday photoshoot and celebration. But above all, you know Daddy loves you, and he is out here trying to get you a better life,” Bahati wrote.
Although he was not physically present during the celebration, he used the opportunity to reassure his son that his absence was not a sign of neglect.
A special message to Diana Marua
Bahati also took time to appreciate his wife, Diana Marua, for ensuring that their son’s birthday remained memorable. The singer thanked her for stepping in and creating a celebration that their son would remember.
“Thank you, Mama watoto, for making our son’s birthday memorable despite my absence. You are amazing,” he said.

He also asked Diana to continue reminding their children that his busy schedule is often connected to his responsibility as a father. “Always remind our kids that sometimes it’s not that I’m too busy for them, but that I’m busy trying to provide for them,” Bahati added.
Birthday blessings for Majesty
Bahati concluded his message by sharing a prayer for his son as he marked another year.
“To my son Majesty, happy seventh birthday. As you turn a year older, may the Good Lord bless you with perfected health, perfected happiness, and perfected growth in Jesus’ name,” Bahati wrote.
Diana also responded to her husband’s message, expressing her appreciation for his efforts and sacrifices. “Even when you’re not with us, we know you prioritise us. Thank you, Baba Watoto,” Diana wrote.
