Mwalimu Rachel praises Martha Karua’s dancing skills at 69th birthday party

Media personality Mwalimu Rachel has praised Martha Karua’s dancing skills after attending the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader’s 69th birthday celebration.
Karua celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, surrounded by family members and close friends. The gathering included music, dancing, food, speeches, and a cake-cutting session.
Mwalimu Rachel later shared a video from the celebration on Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, giving her followers a glimpse of the lighter side of the birthday event.
Mwalimu Rachel praises Karua’s dancing
In the video, Karua and her guests can be seen enjoying themselves as they danced and sang during the celebration. Sharing her experience, Mwalimu Rachel said the event also gave her an opportunity to see a side of Karua that people may not often get to see in her public life.
“Confirmed: Martha Karua loves to dance and she’s so good at it!” Mwalimu Rachel wrote.
She also thanked Karua for inviting her to the celebration and mentioned the collection of throwback photographs that formed part of the birthday reflections.
“Honoured to be invited to your birthday celebrations. The trip down memory lane with the TBT pictures was amazing! God bless you and let’s keep pushing for a better Kenya,” she added.
A celebration with family and friends
The birthday gathering brought together people close to Karua for an evening of celebration. The video shared by Mwalimu Rachel shows guests dancing and singing, while food was also served during the event.
Speeches were part of the occasion before Karua joined those present in cutting the birthday cake. The celebration came as Karua turned 69, having been born on September 22, 1957.
Karua’s September trip down memory lane
Karua’s birthday celebrations came at the end of a month in which she had been sharing throwback photographs and memories from different stages of her life.
Throughout September, she reflected on her 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, using old photographs and personal memories to look back at the experiences that shaped her life and career.
One of the photographs she shared showed her during her younger years, accompanied by a reflection on becoming a magistrate at the age of 24.
At the time, Karua was beginning her career in the judiciary while also raising a young family. She later went into private legal practice and served for nearly two decades as the Member of Parliament for Gichugu.
Looking back at her journey
As part of her birthday reflections, Karua has also spoken about the different stages of her public life, including her time in the judiciary, legal practice and government.
She has described September as a month that allows her to look back at her journey and the experiences that have shaped her. Her recent posts have therefore offered followers both old photographs and personal reflections ahead of and during her 69th birthday.
