Nandi: Wife stabs husband to death in suspected love triangle

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death by his wife in Singorwa village, Meswo Sub-location, Kiminda Location, Emgwen, Nandi County, in what police suspect to be a love triangle.
The incident occurred on the morning of August 9, 2025, at around 3 am inside the couple’s home in Singorwa.
The man’s lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to the left side of his ribs.
Speaking to K24 Digital, Nandi Central Police Commander Silas Kiogora confirmed the killing, saying the victim, a bodaboda rider, died instantly from the attack.
“It is a very unfortunate incident. It was reported by Mr Ezekiel Chepsiror, the Assistant Chief of Meswo Sub-location, Kiminda Location, that a man named Vincent Kiplangat Bett, aged 28, had been stabbed to death by his wife, Mercy Jepleting. His body was found lying beside their house in Singorwa village, Emgwen,” Kiogora said.

The suspect is said to have fled the scene immediately after the attack. While the motive is yet to be fully established, preliminary investigations suggest the incident may be linked to a love affair.
“The man suffered several stab wounds to his left ribs. He likely died from excessive bleeding. The attacker fled to an unknown location after the act, but we are pursuing her to face murder charges,” Kiogora added.
Police have moved the body to the Samaritan morgue pending a post-mortem examination.
